- Flooding possible across portions of the Great Lakes, the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley, the 
Southern Plains, and the Northern Plains.
- Flooding occurring or imminent across portions of the Mississippi Valley, the Northern Plains, 
the Tennessee Valley, the Southern Plains, and the Ohio Valley.
- Flooding likely across portions of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley, the Great Lakes, and the 
Northern Plains.
- Heavy precipitation across portions of mainland Alaska, Sun, Apr 5.
- Heavy precipitation across portions of the Alaska Panhandle and mainland Alaska, Tue-Wed, Apr 
7-Apr 8.
- High winds across portions of mainland Alaska, Sun, Apr 5.
- High winds across portions of the Alaska Panhandle and mainland Alaska, Tue-Wed, Apr 7-Apr 8.
- Much above normal temperatures across portions of mainland Alaska, Sun, Apr 5.
 
Detailed Summary:

In Alaska, abnormally mild conditions will linger over the Far North north of the Brooks Range as 
an intense upper-level ridge over the state slowly weakens. The upper-level ridging will aid in 
producing temperatures that are much above Normal temperatures through Sunday. A deep area of low 
pressure over the Bering Sea will move onshore into the northern mainland that will aid in 
producing an area of high wind and heavy precipitation over the Seward Peninsula to the Pt. Hope 
and southward to Bethel with wind speed of 35 knots or greater and rain greater than 1 inch or 12 
inches of snow on Sunday. Another area of deep low pressure over the North Pacific will move into 
the Gulf of Alaska on Tuesday into Wednesday.  The tight pressure gradient associated with the low 
will produce wind strong enough to meet the requirements for High Winds over parts of the Eastern 
portion of the Gulf of Alaska on Tuesday into Wednesday. The same storm will be accompanied by a 
plume of moisture that will aid in producing Heavy Precipitation over most of the Alaska Panhandle 
on Tuesday into Wednesday. 

A storm over the Eastern Pacific moving onshore over the West Coast on Sunday and move inland by 
Monday. A weak plume of moisture will come onshore with the storm. The moisture and low snow levels 
will aid in producing heavy snow over parts of Northern California that will expand into the Sierra 
Nevada mountains on Sunday and slowly taper off by Tuesday.  heavy rain will also develop along the 
California Coast on Sunday into Tuesday. 

Over Hawaii, a slowly moving surface front will approach the western islands on Monday with 
preceding deep moisture from the south. As the front slowly moves through, heavy rain is possible 
along and ahead of the boundary through next Thursday.
