US Day 3-7 Hazards Outlook NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 359 PM EDT Fri Aug 07 2020 Valid Monday August 10 2020 - Friday August 14 2020 Hazards: - Flooding occurring or imminent across portions of the Middle Mississippi Valley. Detailed Summary: The medium range period (Monday, Aug. 10 to Friday, Aug. 14) will feature no sensible weather related hazard areas. Scattered rain and thunderstorms will spread across the Southeast starting on Tuesday, but does not meet heavy rain criteria at this time. A large upper-level low may produce rainfall for the Pacific Northwest next Wednesday and Thursday, but confidence is low on it reaching criteria. In the Northeast, an approaching low pressure system will draw warm air northward and into the area on Monday and Tuesday, causing temperatures to be 10-15 degrees above average. Temperatures will hover around normal elsewhere. A shortwave is forecast to develop and amplify as it crosses the Gulf of Alaska and approaches the Alaskan Panhandle on Thursday and into Friday. Heavy rainfall may impact the Panhandle on Friday, but a hazard area will not be issued at this time due to model uncertainty. Kebede
