Detailed Summary: On Saturday, a front extending from the Lower Great Lakes to the Southeast will move off the East and most of the Gulf Coast by Sunday. Moisture pooling along the front will produce an area of heavy rain from parts of the Lower Great Lakes to the Northeast on Saturday. High pressure will sit over parts of the Southern Plains to the Northern Rockies, also on Saturday. Moreover, the pressure gradient associated with the related surface low will produce strong wind over parts of the Lakes Huron, Michigan, and Erie on Saturday into Sunday evening. On Saturday, a second front moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest will advance eastward to the Upper Great Lakes to the Southern Plain by Wednesday. The system will produce heavy rain over the Olympic Peninsula on Saturday. Yet, as the boundary moves east, the front will be mainly dry until running into some moisture over Southern/Central Plains into the Middle Mississippi Valley on Tuesday. Over Alaska, a deep area of low pressure moving off the Asian continent will move into the Bering Sea on Saturday and cross the Aleutians on Sunday. The very strong pressure gradient associated with the surface low will produce high winds across the Aleutians on Saturday and Sunday. Also, on Sunday, the models have come into better agreement with heavy precipitation across the southern and western parts of Kodiak Island and the Kenai Peninsula. Moreover, as the low moves into the Gulf of Alaska, heavy precipitation will develop over parts of the Panhandle to just east of Valdez on Monday into Wednesday. Ziegenfelder
