Detailed Summary: High pressure over the Rockies ushers cold air over the Southern Plains, allowing low temperatures in the upper-teens to low-thirties on Monday morning. As a result, an area of Much Below Normal Temperatures is over Texas for Monday. The temperatures will start to moderate over the region on Tuesday as the high moves southward into Mexico. However, a part of the high over the Plains on Monday will move to the Ohio Valley by Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning, the low temperatures will be in the low-teens to the single digits. Likewise, the temperatures will moderate on Wednesday as the high moves over the Southeast. Therefore, a region of Much Below Normal Temperatures is on the Hazards Chart for Tuesday. Meanwhile, an area of low pressure off the northeast coast of Florida will move northeastward just offshore to the Canadian Maritimes by Wednesday. On Monday, the storm will produce mostly light rain over parts of the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast. For Tuesday, the system will produce light rain along the Northeast Coast, with light snow over parts of Northern New England. Furthermore, Monday, a front moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest will move eastward to the Great Lakes by Friday. The system will produce light snow and rain over parts of the Upper Midwest on Thursday into Thursday evening. By Friday, the storm will produce light snow over the Great Lakes. . . .Alaska. . . On Monday, an area of deep low pressure will be south of the Aleutians with another area of low pressure and associated front over parts of the Gulf of Alaska Coast. Moisture associated with the system will stream into parts of the Panhandle and into parts of the South-Central Mainland. An area of Heavy Precipitation extends from near Seward eastward into the Alaska Panhandle for Monday. The Aleutian low moves to the Alaskan Peninsula and Kodiak Island by Wednesday. The associated front moves into the Panhandle by Thursday then into Canada by Friday. The storm will keep the Heavy Precipitation over the region through Thursday. Meanwhile, a strong upper-level low over the Arctic Ocean will move southward over the Southwest Mainland, allowing the low temperatures to be in the low-twenties to mid/low-teens below zero on Monday morning into Tuesday morning, showing signs of moderating on Wednesday.
