and central Texas today, while rain gradually winds down across
the Central Plains and Midwest remains lighter and beneficial...
Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of the Heart of
Texas.
Flood Warnings remain in effect dotted across the central Plains
from central Kansas, northern Missouri, central and eastern Iowa
into northwest Illinois.
Flood Advisories are in effect for portions of south-central Texas.
Flood Watches are in effect for much of Eastern Texas.

At 800 AM MDT...The well defined stationary front exists from
northern Coahuila in Mexico, across central Texas into
south-central Oklahoma, through southern Missouri and into the
Ohio River Valley. A few surface waves still exist along the
front but are generally transient in time, though the most
persistent low exists in central Texas with a 1012 mb (29.88 in
Hg) pressure. Deep layer moisture plume from the sub-tropical
Pacific and Western Gulf over-tops the entire length of the
frontal zone through the Ohio River Valley, however, only
remarkable remaining unstable air is upstream near the sources
across much of Texas. As such, RADAR mosaic depicts remaining
strongest thunderstorms along the front in the Heart of Texas,
with a few more scattered cells into Deep South Texas as well.
Downstream across the Ozark Plateau into the Lower Ohio River
Valley, a broad shield of moderate rainfall still exists, mostly
providing more beneficial, lower intensity rainfall which becomes
even lighter across Ohio into the St. Lawrence Valley at the far
extremity of the stationary front.

The front will remain relatively stationary with a continued slow
southeastward drift across eastern into southeastern Texas with
the string of weak surface waves remaining dotted along it through
the Lower Mississippi Valley through Tennessee/Kentucky and
through the Northeast. The reduced moisture and faster moving
northern stream flow will further diminish the risk of heavy
rainfall across the northern portion of the front keeping the
greater risk of intense thunderstorms generally limited to Texas
and far southeast Oklahoma/southwest Arkansas. Rainfall rates of
1-2"/hr and spots of 2-4" will remain across this area of stronger
thunderstorms and as such WPC has retained a Slight Risk of
Excessive Rainfall (level 2 of 4) for much of central Texas into
southeast Oklahoma. The plume of moisture and risk of
thunderstorms will continue through the weekend but continue to
slowly shift eastward into the Southeast.
