today as the coastal low begins to wind down and moves away from
the Northeast... 

A Flood Advisory and Flash Flood Warning are active across coastal
New England.

At 1000 AM EDT...At 1000 AM EDT...NWS Doppler Radar showed showers
across upstate New England and New York with locally heavier rain
and embedded thunderstorms across coastal New England. A 1003 mb
(29.62 in Hg) low pressure system is spinning offshore
Massachusetts and slowly moving northeastward away from land.

The slow-moving surface low will linger near the New England coast
through today, wrapping around moisture on the back side of the
system. This will continue to bring chances for showers through
the day and an isolated thunderstorm or two. Some locally heavy
rain may be possible with isolated flash flooding or water ponding
where storms train, but the threat should remain rather localized.
Conditions will continue to improve tomorrow as the low pressure
pulls farther away from the Northeast, though the chances for
showers will remain.
