Storm Summary Number 4 for East Coast Coastal Storm
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD
1100 PM EDT Mon Oct 13 2025
...Conditions are improving across the Mid-Atlantic and will
improve across southern New England tonight into Tuesday...
...Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories are in effect from North
Carolina to New York...
...Gale Warnings are in effect for the coastal waters from
Delaware to southern Maine...
For a detailed graphical depiction of the latest watches, warnings
and advisories, please see www.weather.gov
At 1000 PM EDT...The coastal low was gradually weakening and had
become nearly stationary off the Mid-Atlantic coast. There were
two occluded lows, one off the North Carolina coast with a minimum
central pressure of 1008 mb (29.77 in Hg) and one just off the
Delaware coast with a minimum central pressure of 1007 mb (29.74
in Hg). The lows were connected by relatively weak frontal
boundaries that parallel the shoreline. The strongest winds were
observed on the northern side of the system where winds were
gusting 35-45+ mph from New Jersey to Cape Cod. Strong onshore
winds resulted in significant coastal flooding and dangerous beach
conditions along the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England coasts
today. National Weather Service radar also showed that this storm
system was producing scattered light to moderate rain showers
across the northern Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

The coastal low pressure system will gradually pull away from the
East Coast tonight into Tuesday, resulting in improving conditions
over the next 24 hours. Rain should taper off Tuesday afternoon
and evening and winds will decrease significantly as the low moves
further away. Dangerous surf and rip current conditions will
likely continue at East Coast beaches for the next few days while
the storm remains offshore in the Atlantic.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1100 AM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
