...Deep low pressure system moving away into southeastern
Canada...snow ended and winds diminishing across the Northern
Plains...strong gusty winds for the eastern U.S. with some
lake-effect snows across the Great Lakes...
Wind advisories and scattered areas of High Wind Warnings are in
effect for the entire Northeast, down the spine of the
Appalachians into portions of South Carolina and Georgia, as well

and advisories, please see www.weather.gov
At 800 AM CST...A deep low pressure system with an estimated
central pressure of 980 mb (28.93 in Hg) was moving northeastward
away from the Great Lakes. Cold air wrapping around the system is
producing lake-effect snows on the downwind Snowbelt region of the
upper and central Great Lakes, with rain changing to snow across
the lower Great Lakes behind a pair of cold fronts. Wind-swept
rain was moving across southern New England ahead of the more
potent lead cold front where a band of heavy rain was moving
through upstate New York. Lighter rain showers were moving across
the Mid-Atlantic. Strong gusty winds and falling temperatures
followed behind the pair of cold fronts as cold air was rushing
in.
