Avalanche Warnings are in effect for portions of the Central
Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Sierra Nevada,
Transverse, and Coastal Ranges.

At 600 PM PST...A low pressure system was moving east across
west-central Nevada with a minimum central pressure of 998 mb
(29.47 in Hg). On the backside of the system, up-slope flow was
producing snow showers across the central and southern Sierra
Nevada mountains. This is the final low pressure system in a
series of Pacific systems that have brought heavy snow to
California this week.

Snow showers will taper off across the Sierra Nevada by Friday
morning and winds will decrease as the low pressure system
continues to move east. Favorable avalanche conditions will
continue through tonight into Friday morning due to several rounds
of heavy snowfall in the past week.
