Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 829 AM EDT Tue Aug 12 2014 Valid 00Z Wed Aug 13 2014 - 00Z Wed Aug 20 2014 Tropical Storm Julio was located well north of the islands near 28.1N 156.8W at 09 UTC and continues to track away from the state. However, light winds with high surf and high humidity are anticipated finto midweek as Julio is releases northward into the mid-latitude north Pacific flow pattern. Disrupted island trades are expected to rebound to moderate levels in the wake of Julio as high pressure settles to the northeast of the islands. The ITCZ remains active upstream of Hawaii as well with the National Hurricane Center and the Central Pacific Hurricane Center monitoring a tropical disturbance now near 138W that could effect the islands by early next week.
