The trades are resuming across the state, with the global
numerical guidance indicating a gradual increase in moisture from
the southeast into the weekend. The flow will veer sharply to the
south at mid-levels by Sunday as a trough in the westerlies
amplifies toward Hawai'i. The attendant cold front with this
trough is progged to slice through the islands next Monday, with
northerly flow on its heels in a manner quite reminiscent of the
event of the past few days. All this handing off of moisture and
energy should produce showers throughout the state, with many
locations receiving at least a half-inch according to some of the
high-resolution models.
