Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 720 AM EST Sat Dec 06 2014 Valid 00Z Sun Dec 07 2014 - 00Z Sun Dec 14 2014 The global models continue to indicate that a low level ridge moves north across the waters north of the islands this weekend and then east of the islands by mid week, with a weakness at the tail end of a central Pacific cold front. The next ridge of high pressure builds east from the western Pacific towards the end of next week and moves north of the islands, possibly to the northeast by next weekend. Precipitable water anomalies are forecast to be below normal normal through the vast majority of the period. Modest rainfall is expected, primarily in windward areas when the low level weaknesses occur. The models are in pretty good agreement on the large scale pattern with consensus serving to resolve differences. Petersen
