Both the GFS and the ECMWF show a cold frontal passage through the
state on Saturday, accompanied by shifting winds and generally
light amounts of precipitation. Both models indicate the approach
of another cold front next Thursday January 29. At this point,
that front also looks relatively dry, but patchy, deeper layer
moisture entraining along the boundary could be a factor in
producing more rainfall. Between the two fronts, Hawai'i should
sit squarely under a ridge, with mostly sunny skies and normal
trade winds.
