The 18/00Z ECENS/GEFS and their deterministic runs continue to
signal the arrival of the front on Friday---with shortwave ridging
'building-in' and to the north of the Island for next weekend
(days 3-4). The presence of this ridge should give Hawai'i a break
in the progressive weather pattern.

The 'Kona-type' low approaching from the east-southeast---remains
a synoptic-scale feature of interest---though the 18/00Z GFS/ECMWF
deterministic guidance agreed that the system stays southeast of
the Islands during this medium range forecast period.
