The latest GFS and ECMWF both indicate that Hawai'i should remain
in trade flow for the next week, with a slight perturbation in the
form of a vortex briefly closing early Wednesday May 13 well
northeast of the state near 30N/140W. The deep-layer moisture
associated with the ITCZ is progged to stay to the south,
subsiding with time as the low winds up after the weekend.
Five-day QPF through 00Z/13 Wednesday for the windward exposures
is generally in excess of 0.50", with locally higher amounts. The
leeward areas look dry.
