The models indicate that the trough in the westerlies currently
affecting Hawai'i will shear off to the east over the weekend,
leaving patchy deep-layer moisture behind. Both the 00Z/28 ECMWF
and the 06Z/28 GFS show the approach of another trough from the
northwest late next week, though that wave is currently progged to
be flatter. Five-day QPF totals through 00Z/03 Wednesday are
generally 0.25-0.50", with higher amounts into the favored
terrain. The ECMWF is still quite wet over the northeastern Big
Island, with upwards of 5.00" during that period.
