Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 758 AM EDT Thu Jun 18 2015 Valid 00Z Fri Jun 19 2015 - 00Z Fri Jun 26 2015 Latest model and ensemble guidance agrees well for the expected pattern through the next seven days. On average trades should be of moderate strength, perhaps weakening slightly during the Sat-Mon time frame as flow around an upper ridge to the northwest helps to push a weak front into the area. This feature should briefly increase precipitable water values to or above 1.50 inches over the northwestern islands and possibly bring modest enhancement to what should be generally light to moderate windward shower activity. After Mon moderate trades should resume as a central Pacific surface high elongates eastward. There may be a break in the surface ridge by day 7 Thu due to a front extending from a northern Pacific system but current models/ensembles expect any influence to remain north of the islands. Rausch
