Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 736 AM EDT Mon Jul 06 2015 Valid 00Z Tue Jul 07 2015 - 00Z Tue Jul 14 2015 The 6/00Z forecast cycle guidance offers a consistent solution for the Tropics and much of the Pacific. The active region of disturbed weather --- of note between 130W and 150W and along 12N will continue to meander west-northwestward during the next 2 to 3 days. The 6/00Z deterministic GFS/ECMWF provided decent guidance heading into day 4 (10/12z) with a broad 500mb cyclonic flow making a pass across the state from east to west between Thursday and Saturday. After day 5, the area of disturbed weather should move sufficiently west of the Islands and a deep-layered ridge becomes established over the subtropical central Pacific. A blend of the 6/00Z ECENS/GEFS means appear to handle the sequence with relative ease. Vojtesak
