The global numerical models continue to indicate that Hawai'i will
remain under a col in the trades, with eddies tending to get
trapped about the state. Moisture and wind velocities will
continue to be highly variable, with very little predictability of
the smaller synoptic-scale disturbances. The deep-layer moisture
pool associated with the remnants of Enrique will likely make its
way into the col by next weekend, with a commensurate uptick in
rainfall for the islands. Five-day QPF through 00Z/25 Saturday is
generally a tenth- to a quarter-inch, with the usual higher
amounts near the terrain of Mauna Loa.
