The models indicate that the trades will continue to be full of
all manner of disturbances for the foreseeable future. Between the
most recent GFS and ECMWF runs, there are shortwaves, closed lows,
trough lines, and a hurricane or two in the easterly cue. Of
course, predictability of such a swarm of impulses is low.
Rainfall and wind will be highly variable with the passage of the
features, so the only real forecast that covers the situation is
"unsettled." Five-day QPF through 00Z/21 Friday is over a
half-inch everywhere, with most of the terrain receiving several
inches of rain.
