Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 754 AM EDT Mon Sep 07 2015 Valid 00Z Tue Sep 08 2015 - 00Z Tue Sep 15 2015 Pockets of locally enhanced rainfall should gradually become a little more isolated as an upper level ridge moves over the state early this week. Expect winds to be on the light side with some sea/land breeze influence on shower activity. During Tue-Thu slowly weakening Tropical Storm Jimena will track to the north of the islands, near 27N latitude as indicated by the 0900 UTC Central Pacific Hurricane Center advisory. This would keep the main core of deep moisture to the north of the islands. However most guidance still shows an area of higher precipitable water values crossing the area during the latter half of the week into the weekend, raising potential for heavier rainfall once again at some locations. After passage of Jimena or its remnants, flow around eastern Pacific high pressure will support moderate to brisk winds from the east/southeast and more terrain focus for rainfall into early next week.
