The models continue to send Jimena meandering away to the
northwest the next two days, before getting caught up in a trough
along 170W this week. For the main Hawai'ian islands, the trades
are progged to prevail in the wake of Jimena, with the usual low
predictability of the diminutive wiggles and their attendant
moisture pools wending through the flow. Five-day QPF through
00Z/15 Tuesday is significantly higher on the 06Z GFS than the 00Z
ECMWF, with an average of the two models about a half-inch most
areas, with upwards of several inches in the favored terrain,
particularly Mauna Loa.
