An impressively retrogressive upper pattern is forecast to support
a deep trough initially near 35N/175W this weekend before pushing
westward next week. This will allow ridging to build in from the
east generally near and to the north of Hawai'i. Ensembles are in
good agreement through the period.

The leftovers of Jimena will continue to drift away from the NW
islands this weekend, but a SE flow should keep at least a modest
chance of showers for the islands. A brief decrease in PW values
is forecast by the ensembles early next week before another wave
of moisture potentially moves through the area midweek, when
trades should back to the east.
