An upper high north of the islands is expected to gradually weaken
and drift eastward then westward through the weekend and into next
week, which helps a weakness in the high to linger near or over
the islands with slightly more favorable thermodynamic conditions
for rainfall. The high will also help to sustain the moderately to
sometimes stronger trades and periodic intrusions of tropical
moisture.  The models as a whole show good agreement through the
period...with the trades possibly weakening slightly by Friday or
Saturday before restrengthening.  Given good model agreement,
almost any solution is equally probable, with a mixture of the gfs
and ecmwf solutions perhaps the best combination to address any
lingering uncertainties at this time.
