Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 830 AM EDT Sat Sep 19 2015 Valid 00Z Sun Sep 20 2015 - 00Z Sun Sep 27 2015 A preferred composite of latest models and ensembles still reasonably agree that high pressure now settled to the northeast of the state will gradually refresh to the north of the islands later next week. Moderate to locally brisk trades may relax during the transition. Expect an overall pattern with some windward terrain based rains. However...water vapor loops still show a well organized and slow moving closed low spinning aloft to the northeast of the state near 23.5N 152W. This feature may act to gradually destabilize a moistening/higher precipitable water airmass and enhance rainfall potential nearby, especially for the eastern islands early-midweek. Schichtel
