Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 709 AM EST Mon Nov 23 2015 Valid 00Z Tue Nov 24 2015 - 00Z Tue Dec 01 2015 A slowly moving cold front or stalled stationary boundary will continue to ease southeastward through the islands today. Narrow axis of higher precipitable water values will aide in focusing showers and isolated heavier rain along the boundary. As the main area of low pressure continues to pull away to the northeast, its front will weaken and lift back northward later this week before dissipating. Ensembles show a steady decrease in PW values over the southeastern islands but a modest increase in the northwestern islands where the front has already passed earlier today or late yesterday. By the weekend, guidance is in good agreement on building heights as an upper high just west of the Dateline bleeds eastward. This should a drier and more typical trade pattern Sat-Mon, though trades could be more brisk than average given the gradient. Fracasso
