An active and progressive Pacific storm track holds north of
Hawaii for the coming week. A decaying boundary now across the
state will be supplanted with southeastward approach of a new
front to ring in the new year and yet another early next week as a
series of systems pass to the north in the energetic mid-latitude
based flow. A favored composite of reasonably compatable guidance
indicates that moisture and shower potential will be limited. High
pressure bridging just north of the state in the wake of these
system passages will meanwhile support temporary moderate upticks
in currently disrupted island trades.
