A mainly transitional pattern will prevail through early next week
as strong westerlies north of the islands slow
down...amplify...and split across the eastern Pacific due to the
strong downstream block. The result will be periodic frontal
passages and/or slow-downs north of the island...including
Friday...this weekend...and possibly early next week...that
produce disruptions in the trades as well as increases/decreases
in rainfall chances. An intermediate model solution is generally
preferred that emphasizes more deterministic guidance early and
ensemble guidance late.
