Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 701 AM EST Sun Feb 07 2016 Valid 00Z Mon Feb 08 2016 - 00Z Mon Feb 15 2016 A strong cold front now sweeping southeastward across the state remains on track to quickly clear the Big Island. This occurs well underneath a main deep low lifting well north of the state that is associated with passage of an amplified mid-upper level trough. A strong wind shift and airmass change will lead into predominantly dry light Hawaiian flow pattern for the rest of the week. A composite of compatable model and ensemble guidance remains preferred overall in a benign weather pattern with above normal predictability. Schichtel
