Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 759 AM EDT Sat Sep 17 2016 Valid 00Z Sun Sep 18 2016 - 00Z Sun Sep 25 2016 Continued westward progression of the upper low that recently passed over the state will allow for a steadily drier trend from Sunday into midweek. With this drier trend precipitable water values should decrease from current 2"+ values to as low as around 1.25". Guidance still offers potential for an increase in moisture around Fri-Sat, at least some of it associated with Orlene which is now a post-tropical cyclone. There are some differences in timing and magnitude of this moisture but they are generally within the typical error range for a 6-7 day forecast. Moderate trades with modest day to day fluctuations will support primarily windward focused shower activity. Rausch
