Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 807 AM EDT Fri Oct 28 2016 Valid 00Z Sat Oct 29 2016 - 00Z Sat Nov 05 2016 Latest model and ensemble guidance provides a fairly agreeable forecast over the next seven days. The period from now into early next week will feature a somewhat wet and moderate to brisk trade pattern, with primary rainfall emphasis over windward terrain. A weakness aloft drifting across the islands around the periphery of a strong ridge to the northwest will provide some enhancement to activity. By mid-late week an eastward extension of that strong ridge will sag southward as will the weakening surface ridge to the north of the region. Moisture will decrease, with some locations possibly seeing precipitable water values below one inch for a time, and trades should trend lighter as the surface gradient weakens. This evolution will likely lead to lighter rainfall for the Wednesday-Friday period. Rausch
