Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 711 AM EST Sat Jan 06 2018 Valid 00Z Sun Jan 07 2018 - 00Z Sun Jan 14 2018 Models and ensembles continue to show a relatively quiet weather pattern across Hawaii into early next week under the influence of a ridge of high pressure. Normal trades across the state offers below normal moisture and limited precipitation with the best chance for a few windward showers existing this weekend for the southern islands as impulse energy digs on the eastern periphery of the mid-upper level ridge. Models agree on a front approaching the state by Wed-Thurs next week, with the potential for a disruption in the trades and only a modest increase in moisture/showery activity. Trades look to return back to normal fairly quickly as the front weakens to the north of the Islands. Expect high pressure and dry conditions to return again to the islands by late next week.
