Latest water vapor and blended precipitable water imagery shows
some moisture/cloud and rainfall enhancement with an upper level
low spinning near/west of Kauai. Feature proximity suggests some
associated showers will effect the western islands over into
Tuesday, but the deeper moisture has held offshore. Otherwise,
models and ensembles reasonably agree to develop a modest
windward/mauka moisture and rainfall setup this week over the
islands. A favored guidance composite also indicates that moderate
trades pattern should relax by this weekend as supporting high
pressure shifts further northeast of the state as a closed
low/trough is carved out to the east of the Big Island. Forecast
clustering/predictability seems above normal.
