A broad mid/upper-level weakness crossing Hawaii today will
continue to gradually drift westward over the next few days.
Upper-level heights are expected to gradually rise in the wake of
the weakness, as upper ridging builds across the islands. Expect
windward shower activity to decrease slightly over the next few
days as subsidence increases in association with the ridge.
Surface high pressure will remain anchored well north of the
state, keeping 15-25 kt low-level easterlies in place through the
week. There may be a slight weakening of the trades by midweek,
with an increase once again by later in the week as the pressure
gradient tightens a bit.
