Upper-level ridging will build through the region during the next
few days. A mid-level weakness will move westward just to the
north of Hawai'i Friday into next week per the models/ensembles,
along with an increase in precipitable water values. Isolated
windward showers are forecast for rest of the week given broad
subsidence and breezy trades. The GFS was still among the highest
model/ensemble member with its PW values (GEFS mostly higher than
the ECMWF ensembles as well) but a compromise between the
GFS/ECMWF would be acceptable. QPF values may approach several
inches in favored windward/mauka areas over the next week,
especially this weekend into next week.
