Moderate to fresh easterly winds should prevail through the next
week as the subtropical high remains anchored well north of the
state near or along 40N.  A tongue of higher moisture content is
bringing a higher chance of passing showers to the southwest of
the state.  This moisture tongue is forecast to drift westward
with time as upper-level southwesterly flow transport high-level
clouds across mainly the western portion of the island chain.  By
next Thursday into Friday, the remnants of Tropical Storm Gilma
could be passing through the islands from east to west, bringing a
higher likelihood of shower activities along with the possibility
of brief periods of gusty winds.
