Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 818 AM EDT Sun Sep 02 2018 Valid 00Z Mon Sep 03 2018 - 00Z Mon Sep 10 2018 Miriam is forecast to continue weakening as it moves well northeast of Hawaii. Trades will be on the lighter side as the upper low drifts to the northwest over the weekend into early next week past 20N/150W. Mainly light windward/mauka showers are expected today into early this week. During Tuesday, both the GFS and ECMWF have an increase in available precipitable water, so amounts and coverage of showers increase. On Wednesday, the trend reverses with drier air forecast to move across the islands. Then later in the week we will be tracking the progress on Norman and its potential any impacts on Hawaii. Please consult the latest information from the the Central Pacific Hurricane Center on Miriam, and the NHC on Norman and Olivia. Petersen
