Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 734 AM EDT Tue Sep 04 2018 Valid 00Z Wed Sep 05 2018 - 00Z Wed Sep 12 2018 Deepened moisture now passing through the islands may fuel some enhanced shower activity today prior to advent of drier air over the next couple of days. Upstream, Hurricane Norman was located at 09 UTC near 19.9N 141.0W with a central pressure of 982mb and sustained winds of 75kt with gusts to 90kt. The Central Pacific Hurricane Center will continue to monitor Norman and its potential impacts on Hawaii with a forecast track to the north of the islands through later this week. These effects potentially include an increase to surf/winds and moisture. Hurricane Olivia has also developed over the eastern tropical Pacific and is forecast by the National Hurricane Center to pass well northeast of the state early next week.
