Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 646 AM EST Sat Nov 10 2018 Valid 00Z Sun Nov 11 2018 - 00Z Sun Nov 18 2018 A weakening cold front or shear line will sink southeastward through the Big Island on Sunday with scattered showers and breezy north winds (about 20-25 kts with higher gusts) in its wake. Winds will slowly subside and veer back to east-northeasterly then easterly next week as heights build over the area. A typical trade pattern is expected for much of next week with generally light windward/mauka showers. By next Friday, the ensembles show troughing developing to the northwest of the area and either passing by to the north (per most of the ECMWF and Canadian ensembles) or settling near 160W (per most of the GEFS). With some ensemble overlap near Hawai'i, prefer something along the lines of a weaker version of the 00Z GFS which would be wetter than the 00Z ECMWF. Fracasso
