Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 717 AM EST Sat Nov 17 2018 Valid 00Z Sun Nov 18 2018 - 00Z Sun Nov 25 2018 A frontal boundary sinking south of the Islands on Sunday will keep showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rainfall possible, in the forecast through the rest of the weekend. Expect showers to be most numerous across windward locations of Maui and the Big Island on Sunday and into Monday. Following this frontal passage, surface high pressure builds in north of the state which should keep trade winds breezy through much of the next week. Models and ensembles indicate another cold front/upper level trough may approach the islands from the west towards the end of next week, resulting in increased precipitable water values and precipitation chances.
