Latest guidance reasonably agrees in showing that amplified
mid-upper level trough passage over/north of the state
today/Saturday will force a cold front underneath across the
islands. Blended precipitable water imagery loops and a preferred
guidance composite indicates that deepened lead moisture plumes
feeding into the front and in advance of the front roughly along
154W will be in position to fuel enhanced showers in a pattern
with disrupted trade flow. Deep layered high pressure settling
over/north of the state in the wake of frontal passage should
support modest trade return into early-mid next week as lingering
deep moisture pooled along the stalled frontal remains near the
Big Island acts to focus some locally enhanced showers.
