High pressure north of the Hawaiian Islands will maintain normal,
but breezy trade winds the next several days. Gusty winds are also
expected to result in high surf conditions along eastern shores,
and High Surf Advisories are in effect through Friday. Mostly
clear and dry conditions are expected through the weekend with any
light showers favoring windward terrain. Models and ensembles
continue to suggest a cold front may try to cross the island chain
next week, with enhanced showery activity possible Tuesday and
Wednesday. Behind the front, high pressure settles back in to the
north with a return back to the normal and breezy trades next
Thursday.
