Trades are being disrupted ahead of a cold front forecast to push
through the state as a mid-upper level trough passes to the north
of the state today into Wednesday. The best dynamics stay north of
Hawaii, so only scattered showers are expected, with any enhanced
activity over windward terrain. Northerly winds increase and
become gusty in the wake of the front, before veering to the
northeast and eventually easterly later week. Lingering moisture
will only support limited windward showers. Seasonal trades return
from the weekend into early next week as high pressure settles
northeast of the state.
