Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 758 AM EDT Wed Jul 10 2019 Valid 00Z Thu Jul 11 2019 - 00Z Thu Jul 18 2019 Broad subtropical upper-level ridging will dominate the weather across Hawaii through much of the next week. Trades will initially be relatively light (10-15 kt), gradually increasing into the 15-25 kt range by the early to middle portion of next week as surface high pressure strengthens north of the state. The GFS and ECMWF show some consensus that an easterly wave may affect Hawaii early next week, bringing a potential increase in moisture and shower activity late Sun into Mon. The GFS keeps the deepest moisture associated with the feature south of Hawaii, while the ECMWF brings the moisture a bit farther north across Hawaii. Regardless, at least some increase in shower activity is expected in association with the feature. Drier air is expected to once again spread across Hawaii in the wake of the wave by the middle of next week. Ryan
