Ensembles remain in good agreement overall with the pattern shift
over the central Pacific. Closed upper high to the northeast of
the state will weaken as another center forms/strengthens along
160-170E with troughing to its east along 170W. This leaves
Hawai'i in weak upper ridging next week as another surface high
slides into the mid-latitudes from south of the Aleutians,
maintaining breezy trades. There remains disagreement on the
amount of moisture that may pass through at least the Big Island
next week (Tue-Fri) as the ECMWF was among the most aggressive
ensemble members but the GFS was in the middle of the pack.
Ensemble consensus lies a bit above the GFS, but generally only
light mainly windward showers are expected.
