Lingering tropical moisture will continue to stream across the
island chain and slowly shift the axis northwestward over the next
couple of days before diminishing. The remnant circulation will be
absorbed into a frontal system to the north. By Thursday onward,
trades will back to easterly as high pressure builds to the
northeast of the region (near 30N/135W) and strengthen as it
drifts westward to around 140W by next Tuesday. Falling
precipitable water values will support only scattered windward
showers for most of the period. Models/ensembles show good
clustering with a somewhat stable pattern through the weekend with
an upper low north of the region that should lift northeastward by
next Monday.
