Slackening trades will again pick up to breezy levels next week
with increased pressure gradient. Upper heights will rise briefly
over the weekend before troughing slides westward over the region
around the middle of next week. The ECMWF was more aggressive than
most of the ensembles as it brought in additional height falls
from the north-northwest, but about 1/3 of the ensemble members
showed this as well. A couple frontal boundaries will approach the
northwest islands from the northwest during the next week but
generally not push into the area. Brief surges in moisture will
enhance an otherwise typical trade wind pattern with light
windward/mauka showers. More uncertainty lies with the front by
next Wednesday given the spread in solutions.
