Upper troughing will dig southward along 165W over the next couple
of days as a stationary surface front slowly dissipates. A chance
of some locally heavier rains is possible over Kauai nearer to the
boundary and higher precipitable water values near 1.50-1.80
inches. By Saturday, the upper feature will fill south of 20N and
upper ridging will begin to push eastward from the Dateline late
Sunday into Monday. Ensembles show an upper high moving over the
area next Tue-Wed before perhaps weakening next Thu. Trades will
increase in the short term as a 1033mb high slides eastward along
33N before weakening on Sunday as a weak front sinks into the area
Mon/Tue. Rainfall should be light to moderate with each moisture
surge over the islands east of Kauai.
