Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 308 AM EST Fri Dec 13 2019 Valid 00Z Sat Dec 14 2019 - 00Z Sat Dec 21 2019 Moderate to strong trades should continue through the end of next week. A plume of moisture near the tail end of a front should stay off to the west of the main islands of Hawaii today and then gradually dissipates on Saturday. However, some locally heavier showers are possible over Kauai where it is closest to the moisture plume. By Saturday, upper ridging will begin to push eastward from the Dateline late Sunday into Monday, bringing more stable conditions into the region by next Tue-Wed, although the trade winds should strengthen as the next surface high pressure system edges in from the north. Another front should miss Hawaii toward the end of next week before another high pressure system builds in. Somewhat elevated moisture content should keep occasional showers across the area through the weekend followed by more stable conditions early next week. However, more numerous showers should resume toward the end of next week when the aforementioned front approaches. Kong
