After the passage of a westward-moving trough over the weekend,
Hawai'i will be solidly in straight trade flow for the next week,
with the polar front to the north and the intertropical
convergence zone to the south. The deep-layer moisture does not
look particularly juicy, so only expect garden-variety showers in
the easterlies. The high-resolution 00Z/27 ECMWF indicates that
most of the island chain should see a tenth to a quarter of an
inch of rainfall, with the favored orographic areas netting an
inch or two.
