Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 801 AM EDT Fri Aug 15 2014 Valid 00Z Sat Aug 16 2014 - 00Z Sat Aug 23 2014 Tropical Storm Julio was located well north of the islands near 32.4N 157.3W at 09 UTC and continues to track slowly away from the state. Moderate island trades flow underneath in the wake of Julio as high pressure settles to the north and northeast of the islands. A favored guidance composite favors a pattern with below normal moisture and limited windward based showers over the next few days, but moisture should gradually rebound next week. Meanwhile, guidance remains wildly varied but satellite imagery shows a modestly active ITCZ upstream of Hawaii. The National Hurricane Center and the Central Pacific Hurricane Center are monitoring for possible development, if any, over the next week. Schichtel
