Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 729 AM EST Thu Dec 11 2014 Valid 00Z Fri Dec 12 2014 - 00Z Fri Dec 19 2014 Models and ensembles reasonably agree that a weakening front now stalled over the islands should allow pooled moisture fuel some lingering showers over the state over the next couple of days under a mean ridge aloft. A second front should stall/weaken over the state from the weekend into early next week as supporting north-central Pacific to Alaska storm passes well north of the state, but supporting height falls aloft remain limited. High pressure building north of the state in the wake of this storm favors increased island trades underneath from the weekend through midweek, but rainfall should be confined to favored windward terrain.
